About Filific
Filific is a free service for sending files with a link. You upload files in your browser, choose how long the link lasts, and share it. When the link expires, the files are deleted.
Why does Filific exist?
Email attachments stop at a few megabytes, and most cloud drives want an account before you can send anything. Filific is for the simple case: you have files, someone else needs them, and neither of you wants to sign up for anything.
How does Filific keep files private?
- Every link is a long random code that cannot be guessed, and share pages are hidden from search engines.
- You can add a password. We store only a one-way hash of it, so not even we can read it.
- Files are deleted when the link expires, when every file has reached its download limit, or as soon as you use your private delete link.
- Accounts are optional, and there are no advertising trackers and no analytics cookies.
What are the limits?
Without an account, each file can be up to 2 GB and a link lasts 1 day, 7 days or 30 days. A free, optional account adds files up to 5 GB, links that last up to 90 days and a list of all your uploads. One link holds up to 50 files. To keep the service fast and fair for everyone, the number of uploads from one connection is limited per hour and per day.
How is abuse handled?
Sharing malware, phishing, illegal content or files you do not have the right to share is not allowed. Anyone can report a link; we review reports and remove files that break the Terms of Use. Child sexual abuse material is removed at once and reported to the relevant authorities.
