Is Filific free?
Yes. Uploading and downloading are free and you do not need an account. There is nothing to install: Filific works in any modern browser, on a computer or a phone. A free account adds files up to 5 GB, links that last up to 90 days and a list of all your uploads.
How large can the files be?
Each file can be up to 2 GB (5 GB with a free account), and one link can hold up to 50 files. Large files are uploaded in small pieces, so a short network drop does not restart the upload.
How long do my files stay online?
You choose when the link expires: after 1 day, 7 days or 30 days. With a free account the choices are 1 day, 7 days, 30 days or 90 days. When it expires, the files are deleted from our server. They are deleted sooner if you use your private delete link, or once every file has reached its download limit.
Who can download my files?
Anyone who has the link. Links are long random codes that cannot be guessed, and share pages are hidden from search engines. For extra protection, set a password: then people need both the link and the password.
How does the download limit work?
The limit applies to each file. With a limit of 5, every file in the link can be downloaded 5 times. When all files have used up their downloads, the link stops working and the files are deleted.
Can I delete my files before the link expires?
Yes. After the upload you get a private delete link. Open it, confirm, and the files are deleted immediately. Keep that link to yourself, because anyone who has it can delete the files.
Are my files encrypted?
Files travel to and from Filific over an encrypted HTTPS connection. On our server they are stored as you uploaded them, without end-to-end encryption, until the link ends. For very sensitive documents, encrypt them before uploading, for example in a password-protected 7z or ZIP archive.
What is not allowed?
Malware, phishing, illegal content and files you do not have the right to share. We remove files that break our Terms of Use. If you come across a Filific link that does, please report it.
